Sue's Story
It was 12 midnight and Sue was all alone. She had just taken 13 units of quick-acting insulin by mistake.  Sue was a newly diagnosed diabetic and a brand new resident at her senior living facility. She was panicking she didn’t know what to do or who to call so she did the only thing she could think of: call the hospital.
Sue is not new to health challenges. She has hypertension, osteoarthritis, anxiety, and diabetes. But this was different, she needed help immediately. The hospital responded, sorry, ma’am, we can’t provide you medical advice over the phone, and their conversation abruptly ended.
In consideration of her new neighbors, Sue couldn’t call 911 out of fear of waking the entire building when the lights and sirens arrived. So for hours, she at awake, too afraid to go to sleep, because she feared she might go into a coma. Sue was terrified, alone, and helpless. The very institution she called to help her and to keep her healthy couldn’t do a thing for her, so she sat as minutes and hours ticked by.

Sue survived the night but decided she never wanted to be alone again. She wanted a different option than the hospital that said they could not help her. Something that would be there for her when she needed.
So when her doctor recommended Ibis™ from Senscio Systems, she knew it was exactly what she needed. Now Sue knows that no matter what happens, she won't be alone. If she ever has health concerns she can call Senscio and get help from her personal care advocate, and a nurse or Ibis physician, if appropriate. Because no one should ever feel helpless when it comes to their health. People should be able to manage, monitor, and advocate their own health at any time, it is a basic human right.

Susan and Leon's Story

It was a beautiful day in 1959 and Susan was running down the stairs after cheer practice. From the bottom of the stairs she noticed a tall shy boy staring at her blushing. Little did she know this shy, blushing boy, Leon, would father her four children and celebrate over 55 years of life with her.
But over time, Leon’s health slowly declined. He has developed type 2 diabetes, coronary artery disease, dyslipidemia, among other issues. Susan admits keeping up with his various health needs is difficult. It's hard for either of them to remember what pills Leon needs and when he needs to take them. It’s hard to coordinate doctors’ visits and treatment plans. Life, for both of them, became too complicated to enjoy.
Susan wanted something better for her husband. Something that would let him stay in the home they built together.
So she tried Ibis from Senscio Systems and together they are able to live a different life. She states, “It's just nice to know that someone is there for you just watching in the shadows, it's a big relief."
Picture
Ibis offers Susan relief because she knows that Ibis is here to remind them when Leon should take his medicine, to remind them that people care for them, and to remind them that life does not have to be as complicated as before.
With less emotional burden on Susan, life has simply been better. Leon’s health has become less of an impossible task so they can spend more time on what matters, blushing and loving each other.

"I’ve gone from visiting the emergency room around 50 times a year to around 20 times a year." - Keri

Before using Ibis, I visited the hospital once every week - sometimes even more. My doctor recommended Ibis to me saying that it would help me manage my health, so I decided to try it. I was hesitant at first, but looking back, I don't know where I'd be without it. Having one place where I can keep track of what meds and vitals I've taken is really valuable for me because otherwise I would forget. It's important for me to know what meds I have and haven't taken, but what's most important to me is tracking my vitals.

By having vitals such as my blood glucose reported and monitored, I'm able to catch problems before they become worse. Since using Ibis, I've gone from visiting the emergency room around 50 times a year to around 20 times a year, which is an amazing accomplishment for me - and I don't think I could have done it without Ibis.

I started using Ibis only a couple months ago, but it has already become an integral part of my daily routine.  Before I started using Ibis, I struggled with noticing flare ups before they got worse. When trying to manage COPD, preventing and catching flare ups is one of the most important things you can do.  Using Ibis helps me manage my COPD. By constantly tracking my vitals, I can catch small problems before they grow into a larger issue.

Also, I can get immediate help when I need it. Before Ibis, it took me a while to realize there was something wrong with my lungs. Once I finally realized I needed help, I had to call my doctor to schedule tests. By the time the test results arrived, it was another couple days later. With Ibis, when I put in a reading that is abnormal for me, my Care Navigator is alerted immediately and follows up if the problem persists. It allows me to be confident that if a flare up happens, it can be treated as soon as possible. I would recommend Ibis to anyone who suffers from any type of chronic condition - it's extremely helpful.

"It’s an easy and efficient way to stay on top of managing your health." - Constance

All I remember is having a really bad earache - after that, nothing. Turns out I had bacterial meningitis. I suffered from severe memory loss to the point where I couldn't even remember what year it was. Recovery was hard, but I was determined to get better. When I was finally well enough to be discharged from the hospital, my doctor recommended Ibis to me.  He explained how to works and I agreed to give it a try.

Although I'm a lot better than I used to be, I still have memory issues. Ibis helps me with those issues by reminding me of the different things I have to do during the day; it also gives me something to look forward to. I would absolutely recommend this system to anyone with any type of sickness because it's an easy and efficient way to stay on top of managing your health.

Trying to keep track of health records by hand can be very time consuming and tedious. With Ibis, I can record everything by just clicking a couple buttons and my residents' information is saved and is easily accessible.”
