Brenton Stoddart, Ibis Program Specialist
Community sessions offer members and staff the opportunity to congregate, celebrate health accomplishments, and learn from each other. Since most of Ibis is delivered through the IbisHub or remote advocacy, getting together in person is a special occasion.
I was joined by 4 of my colleagues that perform various roles at Senscio Systems. Together, we facilitated educational breakout groups, provided program updates, and of course, played games and distributed prizes. Some of our members also met with their Ibis Chronic Care Clinician in a private setting. In total, 18 Ibis members gathered at SeniorsPlus.
I caught up with Evelyn after the session. She said, “the community session was really informative. I enjoyed meeting other Ibis members and the new program features will be a big help.” Like some of our staff, it was Evelyn’s first Ibis Community Session. Afterwards, she told me “[she] can’t wait for the next one...”
I believe creating moments of joy in an otherwise difficult health journey is the Ibis Program’s greatest blessing. I leave each community session inspired by our members and energized to be the best Ibis Program possible. It's safe to say I can't wait for the next one, either, Evelyn.
